Dr. Shayda Ahkami, DVM received her Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Saint George University. Prior to joining East Chapman Veterinary Center, Dr. Shayda worked in both the private and non-profit worlds of medicine. She enjoys soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Dr. Shayda is a strong supporter of the “No Kill” Philosophy and authored the Animal Evaluation Martrix Policies & Procedures That Protect the Lives of Shelter Animals for the No Kill Advocacy Center.

Dr. Shayda is a member of the AVMA and is Fear Free Certified – a technique which reduces stress in patients. She is a vegetarian and when she is not working he enjoys spending time with her pet family and traveling abroad, especially to the islands.
